Wind and energy yield assessments

Bankable AEP reports by GEO-NET

  • Modelling of the 3D wind field with the globally applicable mesoscale model  FITNAH-3D (our own CFD model)
  • Calculation of the wind energy yield depending on hub height and power curve of the respective converter
  • Validation and verification of the results by long term correlation / long term prognoses and use of pre-checked reference data (weather stations, special measurements, energy yield data of existing WTGS)
  • Proof of reference yield according EEG
  • Representative expert reports for project developers / project buyers / banks
  • Preparation of these services according to
  • Technical Guidelines for Wind Turbines part 5 (TR5) and part 6 (TR6) of the committee wind potential by the Federation of German Windpower (FGW)
  • Standards for preparation of wind assessments by the German Wind Energy Association (BWE)

Quality standards and technical competence

GEO-NET offers high quality and reliable expertise guaranteed by the accreditation according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 (DAkkS*1, ILAC*2) and we are also working according to the MEASNET standards. As certified and accredited laboratory, GEO-NET follows the national and international technical guidelines and standards for the wind industry. The accreditation by DAkkS covers the following procedures: wind measuring and wind data analysis, the determination of wind potential and energy yield of wind turbines, and the determination of reference yield of wind turbines.

GEO-NET is recognized by banks and public authorities worldwide, ensured via the ILAC Mutual Recognition Agreement. GEO-NET is a member of the site review committee of the German Wind Energy Association (BWE, Bundesverband WindEnergie e.V.) and of the expert committee on wind potential of the Federation of German Windpower (FGW, Fördergesellschaft Windenergie).

Energy yield assessments considering climate change

Wind energy and climate change - GEO-NET calculates this impact on your future yields from wind energy

GEO-NET Umweltconsulting GmbH from Hanover (GEO-NET) can now perform wind energy yield assessments considering various climate scenarios.

This is based on a coupling of coarse climate models with the CFD model FITNAH-3D, which has been tested for many years and is constantly being further developed. As climate models, regional climate projections from the CORDEX initiative for various RCP (Representative Concentration Pathways) scenarios are used.
